Julia provides strategic support and helps manage the Pretrial Justice portfolio for the Criminal Justice Team at Arnold Ventures. Her work includes identification of philanthropic opportunities and management of grants in the prosecution, public defense, and bail reform spaces.

Prior to joining Arnold Ventures, she worked with state governments as a consultant for Deloitte Consulting and as a policy analyst for the Urban Institute’s Justice Policy Center. While at Urban, Julia supported research projects related to criminal and juvenile justice policy reforms. She authored publications regarding justice reinvestment, state drug policies, and juvenile justice system reforms. Julia also worked in Texas both at the state legislature and with NPO partners on criminal and juvenile justice policy reform.

Julia received her master’s in public affairs from the Lyndon B. Johnson School at University of Texas and holds a bachelor's degree in public policy from Duke University.
