Vice President of Health Care
Kristi Martin manages and advises on strategy for the organization’s work to lower prescription drug prices. Prior to joining Arnold Ventures, she was Managing Director of the health practice at Waxman Strategies, a mission-driven consulting firm led by former Congressman Henry Waxman and dedicated to creating sustainable change in the public’s interest.
Kristi spent several years of service in the U.S. federal government. As a Senior Advisor in the Obama Administration’s Office of Health Reform, she had primary oversight responsibility for the coordinated and timely implementation of cross-cutting departmental public health and prevention initiatives, including addressing the rising cost of drugs and setting up the women's preventive services initiative.
Kristi also spent time implementing Affordable Care Act programs at the Office of Personnel Management and Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight (CCIIO). Her career in policy started in patient advocacy with the American Cancer Society and Easter Seals.
Kristi completed her undergraduate and graduate education at the University of Kentucky in communication with a focus on health and mass media studies. Kristi also holds an MPA from George Washington University.
