Vice President of Advocacy
Kate supports the philanthropy’s growing advocacy work on high-priority policy initiatives. In this role, Kate works with grantees, coalitions, and partners to drive policy change in states and at the federal level.
Kate brings more than 15 years of policy and communications experience to the Arnold Ventures team. Throughout her career in the public and private sectors, she has brought stakeholders together to build successful public affairs campaigns that generate high levels of public engagement, change minds, and achieve sustainable impact.
She most recently served as communications director for the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition and before that spent more than five years at The Boeing Company working in both communications and government relations capacities. Kate also previously worked as managing director of Hamilton Place Strategies, a public affairs firm in Washington, D.C., and spent seven years on Capitol Hill, where she served in both policy and press positions for members in the House and Senate, including Sen. Olympia Snowe, Congresswoman Mary Fallin, Congressman John Culberson, Congressman Chris Shays, and the House Education and Workforce Committee.
Kate and her husband live in Alexandria, Virginia with their 3-year-old daughter, Alice, and their beloved dog, Franklin.
