Shannon is responsible for reviewing and evaluating the project budgets of prospective grantees for the Health Care team and for supporting the Finance team’s strategic initiatives.

She began her career in public accounting at Arthur Andersen providing audit services to nonprofit, biotechnology, and service companies. She later held accounting and operational leadership positions in technology and early-stage companies and supported the launch of a new medical device at Johnson & Johnson before transitioning to full-time volunteer efforts in the nonprofit sector. In her more recent roles, she co-founded and led a volunteer organization serving families in the neonatal intensive care units at Texas Children’s Hospital and an animal welfare organization where her responsibilities included fundraising and grant writing.

Shannon holds a BBA in accounting from Southern Methodist University, an MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University, and an inactive CPA license from the state of Texas.

Outside of AV, she and her family enjoy exploring and hiking in state and national parks.
