Justine is responsible for designing and implementing an operational grantmaking infrastructure to support Arnold Ventures’ evolving grantmaking activity. Justine first joined Arnold as grants manager and legal counsel, where she helped to build foundational practices and policies for the grants, legal, and finance functions, and later served as director of grants management, where she prioritized the development of a grants management system to meet the growing needs of the organization. Justine aims to find ways to incorporate best practices from the field and identify new process and system efficiencies for Arnold Ventures’ staff and grantees. In addition, Justine continues to provide direct grants management support for several programmatic teams.

Justine received her J.D. from Tulane University Law School, where she specialized in international and comparative law, and participated in a variety of public interest law offerings. During law school, she worked for entities such as the Center for Constitutional Rights, the New Orleans Immigration Court, and The Bronx Defenders, where she developed her knowledge of and interest in public policy and public interest law. Before law school, Justine worked as a development and communications associate at Fifth Avenue Committee in Brooklyn. She holds a B.A. in international studies and Spanish from Kenyon College. As part of her undergraduate and law school education, Justine studied in Spain, Chile, Argentina, and Denmark.
