Position Overview

Arnold Ventures’ People & Culture team is responsible for harnessing the energy and expertise of the organization’s close to 100 employees as they seek to solve some of the nation’s most intractable problems. The People & Culture team leads the organization’s efforts to hire and invest in the brightest minds, develop and implement strategies to engage and empower employees, strengthen and activate the organization’s operational power, and fuel Arnold Ventures’ values and principles in pursuit of sustainable policy change steeped in research and evidence.

We are seeking a Manager to work closely with the Director of People & Culture to support the operations of our search and onboarding work, optimize operational efficiency, and ensure an equitable and race forward practice at Arnold Ventures. This person will further develop, improve, and support our search and onboarding systems, functions, and tools. Successful candidates should be adept at and fulfilled by operational work and eager to play a role in continuing to build and refine Arnold Ventures’ candidate and employee experience.

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage systems to ensure maximum efficiency, including optimization of our internal tools (Paylocity, Google Suite, etc.) to ensure clean candidate data, update applicant status, and create applications/​jobs
  • Manage job postings across job boards and mass mailing lists
  • Conduct research to identify high-quality candidates for every search, leveraging online platforms as needed (e.g., LinkedIn)
  • Review applications and provide candidate recommendations for hiring managers to conduct R1 interviews
  • Compile candidate materials for hiring managers
  • Coordinate the scheduling and rescheduling of intake and briefing meetings and interviews
  • Draft candidate facing communications to articulate clearly and concisely the interview process, timelines, and expectations including emails, pre-interview projects, and other resources
  • Draft hiring manager facing communications and materials including emails, meeting presentations, candidate summaries, interview guides/​packets
  • Execute the onboarding and new hire process in coordination with the People & Culture team

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 to 4 years of relevant work experience in a related support position, including both process management and complex customer-facing communications
  • Meaningful experience and ability in systems design and improvement with a demonstrated history of operational efficiency and optimization
  • Exceptional project manager with extraordinary organization skills
  • Outstanding data mining skills, particularly in candidate sourcing, research, or other similar analysis
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Strong command of modern technology (MS Office, Google Workspace, Calendly, Zoom, etc.)
