Webinar Offers Practical Advice on Applying for Grant Funding with Arnold Ventures' Evidence-Based Policy Initiative

The session aimed to provide potential grantees with clear advice on applying to the team’s RCT Opportunity request for proposals (RFP), with a goal of diversifying the applicant and grantee pool.

Arnold Ventures’ Evidence-Based Policy team recently hosted the webinar “Practical Advice on Preparing a Successful Grant Proposal to Arnold Ventures to Conduct a Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) of a U.S. Social Program: A Webinar for Prospective Applicants.”

The webinar aimed to provide potential grantees with clear advice on how to successfully apply for grant funding through the team’s RCT Opportunity request for proposals (RFP), with a goal of diversifying the applicant and grantee pool. Led by Vice President of Evidence-Based Policy David Anderson and Evidence-Based Policy Manager Erin Crossett, the webinar delivered an overview of what our reviewers look for in RCT grant proposals, including insight into the team’s selection criteria and common mistakes to avoid. Interested applicants can find additional information on the RCT Opportunity RFP here.

The Evidence-Based Policy initiative works to advance the core mission of Arnold Ventures by funding RCTs across all areas of U.S. social policy, in order to discover evidence-based solutions that maximize opportunity and minimize injustice. Over the last six years, the team has funded more than 90 RCTs, with the goal of building the body of social programs rigorously shown to produce sizable, sustained effects on important life outcomes.
