Arnold Ventures Commends Senate Passage of ROAD to Housing Act
Schuetz: Bill “empowers communities to expand the supply of all types of homes, which will bring down costs and give Americans more choices.”
WASHINGTON, D.C. (October 10, 2025) — Jenny Schuetz, vice president of infrastructure for housing at Arnold Ventures, provided the following statement after the Senate’s passage of the bipartisan ROAD to Housing Act of 2025 as part of the National Defense Authorization Act:
“Americans need more home choices in their communities, and the status quo is not working. For too long, outdated rules and unnecessary red tape have made it too hard and too expensive to build new homes. With the passage of the bipartisan ROAD to Housing Act, the Senate took a historic step to change that.
“By supporting evidence-based solutions, the ROAD to Housing Act empowers communities to expand the supply of all types of homes, which will bring down costs and give Americans more choices. The legislation strengthens opportunities for veterans, rural families, and those rebuilding after disasters while preserving and expanding affordable manufactured housing.
“The Senate’s vote shows that bipartisan, evidence-based policymaking can deliver real progress. We thank Chairman Tim Scott (R‑SC) and Ranking Member Elizabeth Warren (D‑MA) for their leadership and commitment to pragmatic, solutions-oriented housing policy. The House of Representatives should act quickly to bring meaningful relief to families facing high housing costs.”
