In its comment letter responding to the U.S. Department of Education’s Response for Information seeking feedback on redesigning the Institute of Education Sciences (IES), Arnold Ventures applauds the longstanding role that IES has played in generating rigorous evidence-based policy and recommends that the IES maintain rigorous, evidence-based research standards to identify effective education programs, inform policy decisions, and scale proven solutions. Arnold Ventures urges IES to improve access to clear, timely research summaries that are responsive to decision makers’ needs and maintain strong federal data systems to support better educational outcomes for students and taxpayers.
