Arnold Ventures statement on House passage of 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act
WASHINGTON, D.C. (May 20, 2026) — Kelli Rhee, president and CEO at Arnold Ventures, provided the following statement after House passage of the bipartisan 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act:
“America is facing a housing shortfall where supply has failed to keep up with demand, leading to high costs and barriers to homeownership. Both chambers of Congress recognize the need to cut unnecessary red tape that’s hampered development to meet demand. Today’s floor vote in the House on the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act is another step to advance that mission.
The 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act incorporates significant pro-supply reforms from initial proposals from both the House and Senate. Importantly, it makes necessary revisions to earlier language to ensure new homes get built.
We applaud the leadership of Chairman French Hill (R‑AR) and Ranking Member Maxine Waters (D‑CA) for negotiating a new product that is a good-faith effort to compromise with the Senate.
Today’s vote means we’re one step closer to a landmark moment in this country. We urge the Senate to take up the bill and send it to the President’s desk.”
