Executive Vice President of Policy and Advocacy
Michael leads the Policy and Advocacy team, which aims to strengthen Arnold Ventures' partnerships with federal and state governments and works with the philanthropy's programmatic teams to integrate research findings into the policy-making process.
Prior to joining Arnold Ventures, Michael was a senior official at the Office of Management and Budget, a Special Assistant to the President for economic policy, and a Senior Director at the National Economic Council. He has also served as Director of Government Affairs for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and as the Managing Director at the Hamilton Project at Brookings Institution.
Michael holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Michigan and a B.A. in economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
