Criminal Justice Manager
Jessi is responsible for developing and managing high-impact projects for the criminal justice team. Prior to joining Arnold Ventures, she was a research associate for the Vera Institute of Justice, where she focused on issues of solitary confinement, aging in prison, women’s issues in prison, and prison visitation policies. In that role, she provided qualitative research expertise to inform policy recommendations for agencies across the country.
Previously, Jessi served as a social worker for the Exoneration Project at the University of Chicago Law School. There, she provided reentry case management to wrongfully convicted people coming out of prison, wrote psycho-social histories and mitigation reports to be used in court, and worked on several of the juvenile life without parole re-sentencing hearings in Illinois.
She holds a master’s degree in social work from the University of Chicago’s School of Social Service Administration and bachelor’s degree in law, letters, and society from the University of Chicago.
